Summer newsletter
Hello!
I hope you’ve been doing well. I’m excited to let you know that I’m now using a new platform called Substack to share my newsletters. If you’d prefer not to receive these updates, feel free to let me know—no hard feelings. But if you’re interested in staying connected, read on for a look at what I have coming up in the next few months.
10 June: Artist talk at Pakhuis de Zwijger
Among four other artists, I will share insights about my work and elaborate on how it may shift perspectives within our society. You are warmly invited to join — the event is free and will start at 19:30!
This talk is in preparation for Glue Design Route, which will take place from 18–21 September, during which I will exhibit my work at Waag Futurelab - Nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam.
22 June: Workshop ‘Lola’s Beasts’ at Lolalieven
Together with artist Müge Yilmaz, I create participatory artworks for the community art space Lolalieven in Slotervaart — and we’d love your input! Join us in painting fantastical, real, and surreal animals, which will later be transformed into tapestries and sculptures. The workshop is suitable for all ages, and no experience is needed.
27-30 July: Tapestry weaving course at De Steek
Looking for something to do on a staycation? Taking up a new home hobby like weaving is always a great idea! Before you know it, you'll be ready to weave and knot your own carpet by next winter 😉 We’ll meet every morning for about three hours, and once the course is completed, you’ll get to take your loom home with you.
August — Art Residency in North Macedonia
For the entire month of August, I’ll be at an art residency in North Macedonia with my partner Andrius. Together, we’ll explore the country’s musical and textile traditions while collaborating on sensors that capture hand movements during weaving, accompanying sounds, and the deeper meanings we can uncover through this explorative, tactile work 😊
I wish you a beautiful, warm and creative summer and I hope to see you on one of these events!
🌼 Love, Rosa
